We see it too often that motivated innovation teams invest relevant time and commitment to explore new business. But then, even weeks after the final presentation with evidence for business and clearly proposed next steps there's no decision from Top Mgmt on the further procedure. How motivating must that be for an innovation team having spent weeks of their (life) working over-time to explore what could secure the company`s future and then no action is taking place, not even communication?

Reason

There is simply no drive behind innovation from Top Mgmt`s side. We are insecure and rather wait and see how things develop. But we definitely are not in the driver's seat to push new solutions to the market as soon as possible.

Possible Root Causes

1. There is no, or only an imprecise vision what the company wants to achieve regarding new business. Nothing that pulls projects through the valley of uncertainty.

2. There are unclear, frequently changing and often contradictory opinions in which direction the company should develop.
